今更聞けない比較級の基礎②

前回の続き。

「AはBよりも〜だ」よりももう少し具体的な比較の文法☝️

　今回は全部りんごで例えて。

①「AはBと同じくらい〜だ」

　・as 原級 as〜　「〜と同じくらい・・・だ」

　・not as 原級 as〜　「〜程・・・でない」＝ less 原級 than S V

🍎This apple is as big as that one.

　このりんごはあのりんごと同じくらい大きい。

　（厳密に言えばこのりんごの方が若干大きい）

　This apple ＞ that apple

🍎This apple is not as big as that one.

　このりんごはあのりんご程大きくない

　This apple ＜ that apple

＝This apple is less big than that one.

＝That apple is bigger than this one.

②「AはBの・・・倍〜だ」

　・A is ・・・times as 原級 as B

　🍏This apple is two times as big as that one.

　このりんごは、あのりんごの２倍大きい。

　・twice as 原級 as〜　〜の２倍

　・third as 原級 as〜　〜の３倍

　・half as 原級 as〜　〜の半分

　・quarter as 原級 as〜　〜の４分の１

　・two-thirds as 原級 as〜　〜の３分の２

　・one-eighth as原級as〜　〜の８分の１

③「AはBの２倍の・・・だ」

　twice the 名詞 of B = twice as 原級 as〜

　🍎This apple is twice the size of that one.

　このりんごはあのりんごの２倍の大きさだ。

　〈名詞に入る語〉

　・長さ -length

　・大きさ -size

　・重さ -weight

　・数 -number

個人的にthe twice the number of that one って言う発音が好き（笑）
